New Black Acre Records tees!

I recently got the chance to work with Black Acre records to produce this range of 3 shirt designs. If you are unfamiliar with Black Acre check out their soundcloud here for some forward thinking electronic music by the likes of Blue Daisy and Hyetal. Although Black Acre is primarily an electronic label the aesthetic has a very dark almost gothic feel to it. It was fun to play around with this and to take elements from the Black Acre logo (a skeletal tree with a crow perched on it) and break them down to create these designs. I also couldn't resist trying my hand at a Black Metal style logo a la Christophe Szpajdel (look him up!). If you like any of these and want to support a great label you can buy them here.

Commission done for Project Magazine for an article on Richard Dawkins. They wanted the commission done in the style of the William Burroughs portrait I had done previously and this is the version they chose. I have no idea what it looks like on an ipad...

Last friday I got to take part in a live drawing event at Detour skate store in Bath with a bunch of other dudes-It was definitely terrifying drawing in front of a crowd but the free beers helped with sorting out my nerves. I arrived with no idea of what I was going to do and not being able to stand back from my drawing meant my proportions came out a bit whacko but it only helped with the acid vibe I was going for (another reference to the amazing teen rebellion film 'Over The Edge'). Anyway fun night, and some much needed practise in large scale drawing. Cheers to detour and Levis and everyone else involved, especially super drawerers 1995 and Mike O'Shea. More photos here.

PUCK EXHIBITIONS!!!

Puck is exhibiting!! Our first exhibition kicks off at the CAMP on the 3rd of March and runs until the 16th, will feature some top-quality work from the Puck gang and if you get there for the private view you'll get to judge our music taste and laugh at us as well.
We will then be moving ourselves over to Somerset House for this years Pick Me Up! This is a 'contemporary graphic art fair' and is gonna be home to some amazing artists from the 17th-27th of March. We're gonna be doing some live screenprinting as well as a load of other stuff that we've been working on, should be fun! Bring your mates, see you there!

Been really busy recently, what with the degree show and more importantly Glastonbury (1.Jarvis Cocker, 2.Fucked Up, 3.Blur, for those who are interested. Check out the footage of Jarvis if you didnt see it, he's got it all; beard, glasses, high kicks, tiny guitars-the lot.) Anyway this is a quick project that me and a friend (Joe Hinder-check him out) did for Oxford based band I ATE MOTHER. Its a CD cover that was designed (by Joe) to encase the CD within a folded sheet of A4 for easy reproduction with no cutting involved-it was then sealed with a sticker. I had the slightly easier job of drawing three charming animals for the three different covers.
p.s working on a website now-should be up within a couple of weeks.

Well-the exhibition is over, I hope everyone had a good time, I definately did (although I think I need to take it easy for a while now!) here's my piece for the exhibition-a 6-layer screenprint of Daniel Johnston and some other weird stuff. Im working on a project to be in a student-organised exhibition at the Draywalk Gallery on Brick lane (due to take place from the 3rd-7th of April). The Exhibition will feature designers and illustrators in their final year of study at Bath Spa working to the theme of 'Progression' and there should be a good ol' time to be had by all (as well as a good time for me to hook up for beers with a load of rad people) Heres the preliminary brush and ink sketch I did to start off my effort for the show...

Took a while for me to post but here's the new improved screened record sleeves (12 of them), plus a couple of posters to be included inside the sleeves (pictured in the wrong fucking order for some reason). I even splashed out on some fancy Japanese paper to make the posters seem better than they actually are. Still got a load more to do on this, plus the RSI of folding them to look forward to. Anyway sorry about my terrible photography but you get the idea...

This is something I produced as a response to the brief 'provoke change'. It is based on supporting independent record shops (in this case the excellent 'discovery records' in Barnstaple devon, in the unlikey event you ever end up there, have a look, its sick.) I have included posters and zines in the record sleeves and it's designed to be a tactile piece to representing the element of discovery and suprise that you might encounter whilst shopping for records. This is more of a prototype, Im working on expanding this!...LONG LIVE VINYL!!

Heres a few pages from a 'Graphic Novel' I created based on the life of Darby Crash-lead singer with 70's Hollywood punk band THE GERMS. I had a hard time with this, I am a massive fan and with the folklore surrounding the enigma that was Darby and the Germs, it was hard to do the story justice. Also with me being to young and living in an entirely different continent, hard facts were hard to come by-so it ended up a rather hazy account cobbled together from various books etc. Anyway enjoy/vomit/whatever...LISTEN TO THE GERMS
